Serradenari

Barolo DOCG

With more than 500m above sea-level this vineyard is the highest in the entire Barolo region. Limited production from only around 0,6ha which are south-facing. The clay soil is white in colour and has a high content of Sant’Agata marl.
Serradenari is almost always the last vineyard to be harvested and its Barolo distinguishes itself with its immense elegance, finesse and is distinctly spicy.

Serradenari

Harvest:
Hand-harvest into 20kg baskets
Winemaking:
traditional winemaking: warm fermentation in a concrete vat is followed by 35 days of maceration with submerged cap, an ancient technique whereby the cap of skins is submerged in the freshly fermented wine.
Wine maturation:
The ageing takes place over 24 months in a 25hl Slavonian oak cask, followed by 7 months in concrete before bottling. Further bottle ageing before the wine is then released on the market.
Wine profile:
Serradenari is a symphony of elegance and power. An expressive and juicy Barolo with a complex spicy aroma. Its finesse and long finish leaves you wanting more.
